KUCHING: The life of a security guard from Sabah took an incredible turn when he won the RM13.4 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on March 2.
Sports Toto said the 53-year old winner had the set of winning numbers 1203 and 1227 which was a combination of his birth date and car registration number.
“He bought these two numbers which only cost me RM2.60 (including Sabah’s sales tax of RM0.60) to be rich.
“He thought he might still continue to work until his retirement, but after looking at the interest alone if he deposits the winnings, the security guard would no longer need to work,” Sport Toto said in a statement.
The gaming firm said the security guard’s wife could not stop crying when he told her the good news as they could now realise their dream of building a house big enough to accommodate his entire family, including the siblings in Sabah.
“Being an indigenous Sabahan, he can now make a difference for his people, as he now wishes to go back and develop his village,” Sports Toto added.
The lucky winner won a whopping RM13,403,860.25 out of the total jackpot of RM14,962,901.80. The balance of the jackpot amounting to RM1,559,041.55 was shared by two i-System winners from Sabah and Kuala Lumpur.
