Sahabat GERAH has 70,000 members now

KUCHING: The membership of Sahabat GERAH (Gerakan Revolusi Anti Rasuah) for the whole country has reached 70,000.

Gerakan Revolusi Anti Rasuah was launched last May while its membership drive was launched on 1 August.

“Actually, the target was to achieve 50,000 members by 1 October,” Dato’  Haji Badrul Shah Bin Norman, Director of SPRM Sarawak disclosed at the signing ceremony of Free-Corruption Pledge by Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia (LKIM) Sarawak at Merdeka Palace Hotel here, yesterday.

Badrul said SPRM welcomed participation from all levels of society in the fight against corruption.

He added that the main objectives of Shahabat GERAH were to provide opportunity to the society to be involved together with SPRM in the prevention of corruption and the fight against corruption till the end.

“The role of Sahabat GERAH is to be the ‘eyes and ears’ for SPRM in reporting whatever act of corruption and contribute manpower in effort to prevent corruption and be a role model and as an individual of integrity to society,” he explained.
