KUCHING: Sarawak is sending eleven players to participate in the upcoming Asean Oceanic Ultimate and Guts Championship which will take place at the Alabang Country Club in Manila, Philippines, from September 5 to 11.
The championship includes three divisions: Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed categories.
In a statement, team Malaysia will be represented in two divisions, namely Men’s and Women’s.
Besides Malaysia, there will be international teams from India, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Chinese Taipei, and Korea competing at the event.
Ultimate frisbee is a growing sport in Malaysia, with a rising interest among Sarawakians.
In recent years, Sarawak has shown success in the sport, having won the previous under 24 (U24) titles in the Malaysia Mixed Nationals 2020 and Malaysia Mixed Nationals 2022.
