KUCHING: The Sarawak Foundation is currently focusing on providing scholarships for studies within the country, says Mohamad Adzlie Ibrahim.
The acting deputy director of operations stated that the scholarships would cover studies at public higher institution of learning (IPTA) throughout the country and a few selected private institutions in Sarawak.
“The application period for the Domestic Education Loan Scheme (Skim Pinjaman Pelajaran Dalam Negara) is open throughout the year.
“On the other hand, the consideration for scholarship under Sarawak Foundation Tun Taib Scholarship and Sarawak Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship Foundation is based on merit.
“The application period for these scholarships are within a certain duration of time only,” he said on Thursday (Aug 19).
He stated that the foundation offered Overseas Education Loan Scheme (Skim Pinjaman Pelajaran Luar Negara) to students who are furthering their studies overseas.
“This loan scheme bears half of the cost for studies. The selected field must be recognised by the Public Service Department and the application period is open throughout the year.”
