KUCHING: The Sarawak Youth, Sport and Entrepreneur Development Ministry is looking forward to working closely with the newly appointed Federal Youth and Sports Minister, Hannah Yeoh.

Its minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said that Hannah was a very experienced politician and believed that she would perform well as the federal Youth and Sports Minister.

“Hannah is also most welcome to come to Sarawak if she wants too, and we will be very happy.”

He said this at a press conference after attending the unveiling of Sarawak Tourism’s Next Gen Digital Platform – A New and Improved Version of the Sarawak Travel Portal and App, at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching.

Abdul Karim, who is also the Asajaya assemblyman, hoped that federal ministers would not forget about Sarawak when it comes to organising events.

“Our hope is that whoever is the federal minister, especially those from West Malaysia and in whatever capacity that they are in, always remember that in Malaysia there are two other big states in Borneo – Sabah and Sarawak.

“When it comes to programmes, activities, and visits, they (federal ministers) only know about West Malaysia, and they forget about Sarawak and Sabah.

“So, don’t let all the activities be confined to West Malaysia only,” he said.
