LAWAS: The state government continues to prioritise the development of infrastructure, including water and electricity supply facilities, education, and technology.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan stated that the state government will upgrade road and telecommunications facilities while enhancing the skills of the people and advising them to adopt the latest technology.

“We will improve all facilities, especially in terms of skills. We have established the Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) and Giatmara, which contribute to skills development,” he said ahead of the handing-over of Minor Rural Project (MRP) funds recently held here.

Awang Tengah, who is also the Minister of International Trade, Industrial and Investment, emphasised the need for collaboration between the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to implement beneficial programs for the local community.

“We distribute assistance progressively, regardless of religious beliefs. So, please utilize it to the fullest,” he said.
