KUCHING: Yayasan Pengguna Negara Malaysia (YPNM) Sarawak Branch has pledged its full cooperation to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) in combating crimes in Sarawak.

During a courtesy visit to the Deputy Police Commissioner of Sarawak, Datuk Mancha Ata at Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters, Sarawak YPNM chairman Daren Ling Hang Hui expressed their commitment to strengthen the bilateral relationship with the PDRM.

The visit, which took place on May 18, involved fruitful discussions on several current issues, including the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) Hotline 997 and drug abuse in Sarawak.

Ling highlighted the alarming increase in scams and drug abuse in rural areas and stressed the importance of collaboration with the PDRM and local authorities to raise public awareness at all levels and districts.

To protect the interests of Sarawakians, Sarawak YPNM intends to work closely with the PDRM, organising events, seminars, and other platforms to address related issues. They strongly believe in the principle of “Prevention Is Better Than Cure.”
