Kuching Polytechnic Head of Department for Sports, Co-Curriculum and Culture (JSKK) Abdul Rashid Hassan presented the prizes to the winners as well as officiated at the closing ceremony of the event.

In his speech, he mentioned that such event can nurture the spirit of unity, identify acting talent among the students and building the students’ confidence to perform in public. This will also encourage the ability of multi-tasking among the students in balancing between skills requirements and soft skills.

“Musical drama is a combination of singing, dance, and movement arts. It emphasises those elements based on the dialogue the actors bring. The presentation is not based only on the actor’s physical expressivity but also the coordination of the dialogue with the music’s
melody, emotion and dance moves.

“This is not an easy task. The training, energy, time and commitment shown by the students and staff of the Sarawak State Community College should be commended,” he said.
