Hubby slashes wife over WhatsApp message

MIRI: A man allegedly slashed his wife’s forehead with a knife following a quarrel at their house in Taman Tunku here.

The alleged attack occurred around 8am on Tuesday and said to have been triggered by a WhatsApp message on his wife’s cellphone.

A police report was lodged by the 26-year-old wife after she received medical treatment at a clinic in Taman Tunku.

According to sources, the wife received several stitches in her forehead following the incident.

Sources added that prior to the attack; the husband was outraged after he saw a message that said “sayang” (darling) on his wife’s cellphone sent by a man believed to be an offshore worker.

He allegedly punched his wife on the face before grabbing a knife and slashed her forehead.

The husband is being detained by police to facilitate investigation.
