SARATOK: Several infrastructure improvement projects will be carried out at SK Kampung Kupang this year, said Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri.

He said the projects included repairing the teachers’ quarters, upgrading the football field and building a petanque court.

He explained that when the projects were completed, teachers could live in the quarters comfortably while children could also play sports happily.

He said the projects would be carried out with Minor Rural Project funds.

Mohamad also revealed that a RM20,000 Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant was also approved for the school’s Parent-Teacher Association.

“I hope this fund can be used by the PTA well to cultivate the practice of excellence in the school.”

Mohamad said this when officiating at the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony of SK Kampung Kupang Session 2022-2023 at Dewan Alias Tandok yesterday.

The khatam ceremony involved 24 Year Six students and its objective was to appreciate and recognise the children who had completed their respective readings of the Quran.

The assemblyman also revealed he was fighting hard for the implementation of the Bajau-Kupang Road.

“I met the Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang who is also the Kota Samarahan MP to convey the wishes and dreams of the residents here.

“I understand that there are phases that have been completed. God willing, the Bajau-Kupang road will be built.

“I hope that the Unity Government can realise the construction of this basic facility immediately,” he said.
