Lee (centre) hands over a cheque to Khor.

MIRI: Pei Min Middle School Board chairman Khor Ooi Long and Riam Road Secondary School deputy board chairman Datuk Seri Lau Hieng Su paid a courtesy call to Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin today.

In a brief meeting, they both brought up issues being faced by their respective schools to Lee and sought for his advice.

Lee also presented RM3,000 to each school as their Chinese New Year ang pow.

In previous years, the two schools would bring their lion dance troupes to perform at Lee’s house to raise funds for their schools.

This year, due to the conditional movement control order (CMCO) and in compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs), lion dance performances were not allowed.

Both school boards were very thankful to Lee as he has been consistently assisting Chinese independent schools.
