KAPIT: Scrap metal dealers are advised to be wary of purchasing stolen goods.

The Kapit District police headquarters (IPD) through a statement on its Facebook page on Thursday (Jan 27), said it has launched and operation codenamed Ops Lusuh to inspect shops that sell and buy scrap items.

The operation was carried out by the Kapit District Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division (BPJKKD) on Wednesday (Jan 26) at a scrap metal shop in the area.

“The inspection is to ensure that there are no scrap metal shops involved in the sale and purchase of stolen goods.

“If you suspect that the goods sold are stolen, immediately report them to the police,” the statement said.
