KUALA LUMPUR: Senari Synergy Group of Companies bagged two prestigious awards by the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) for its high level of safety and health standards at worksites, yesterday.

Its subsidiaries, IOT Management Sdn Bhd (IOTM) and Tanjung Manis Oil Terminal Management Sdn Bhd (TMOTM), received the ‘MSOSH OSH Gold Class 1 Award’ followed by a Silver Award, under the Petroleum, Gas, Petrochemical, and Allied Sector category.

The 40th MSOSH Awards 2022 ceremony held at Sunway Resort & Spa yesterday (Dec 21) is aimed at giving due recognition to companies and organisations that have shown outstanding health and safety stewardship and advocated safety and health programmes in their daily operations.

In a press statement, Senari Synergy said the industrial safety awards were conferred to organisations that meet the stringent documentation and site verification audits by a panel from various agencies.

The panel includes the Ministry of Human Resources, Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Sirim Berhad, the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF), the MSOSH, professional OSH practitioners from various multinational corporations and private companies.

The awards were presented by the CUEPACS president Datuk Adnan Mat to Ismail Julaihi, IOTM’s head of Terminal and Abdul Muin Amir, TMOTM’s terminal manager, who accepted the awards on behalf of both the subsidiaries.

Since its inception, IOTM & TMOTM have recorded an impressive record of nine million manhours and 1.68 million manhours of no loss time injury respectively.

In addition to these awards, Senari Synergy has also received the Corporate Excellence Awards in the Asia Pacific Entrepreneur Awards (APEA) in May 2022, as well as the Sarawak Chief Premier’s Industry’s Excellence Awards (CMIEA) earlier this year.
