Sibling quarrel leaves jobless man injured

MIRI: A 25-year-old unemployed man was injured during a quarrel with his elder brother in a house at Bandar Baru Permyjaya early this morning.

Upon receiving a police report on the incident, police have detained a 28-year-old man for questioning and seized a knife believed to have been used in the attack.

Miri police OCPD, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspect was apprehended around 12.40 am. 

It was reported that two began quarrelling after the suspect told his younger brother to get a job as he has been unemployed for a long time.

Irritated that his brother ignored his advice, the angry man suddenly punched him on his chest before grabbing a knife from the kitchen.

The suspect allegedly injured the victim’s right hand when he attacked him with the knife. 

The suspect has been remanded for four days starting from today.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
