KUCHING: The sixth edition of the award-winning financial literacy programme AEIOU Challenge by Alliance Bank will be conducted digitally.
Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (‘Alliance Bank’ or the ‘Bank’) stated that this is in a way to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of schoolchildren, teachers, and parents.
“All of the learning materials will be digitalised, and the Bank will conduct its financial literacy road show virtually to ensure the continuity of the programme despite the pandemic,” they said.
This year’s season carries the theme titled ‘Saving for A Rainy Day: Preparation During A Crisis’.
“This theme is aimed to help children explore different ways to begin and continue their savings journey.
“Being financially literate is an important life skill to have as it enables one to weather difficult challenges such as the pandemic,” they said.
According to them, its initiative comprises three components which are financial literacy education, Comic Challenge and e-Game Challenge to teach schoolchildren aged nine to 12 on the importance of saving, making smart financial decisions, and being prudent in spending.
“To test their knowledge of smart money habits, schoolchildren can either participate in the Comic Challenge by submitting their creative comic artwork or compete in the e-Game Challenge.
“A prize pool of over RM16,000 in cash and prizes await winning students,” they added.
They also stated that the school with the highest number of participants also stands to win a cash prize of RM3,000 for their school development fund whereby outstanding teachers who champion this programme in their respective schools will also be rewarded up to RM6,000.
The closing date for submission is July 2.
