MIRI: Some 100 experts in smart computing and communication systems deliberated on issues in Green Technology, Smart Grids, Green Data Centres and Green Buildings during a three-day conference at Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) campus here recently.

The 7th International Conference on Smart Computing and Communications (ICSCC 2019) was organised by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Malaysia in collaboration with IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology (EMB), Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra, India.

Themed ‘Smart Computational Intelligence for a Digital World’, the conference focused on topics like Sustainable Computing and Communications, Sustainable ICT and smart computing and low-energy system design.

The conference’s keynote speakers comprised prominent academics, including Professor Mohamad Yusoff Alias of Multimedia University Malaysia; Professor Robert Ernest Kooij of Singapore University of Technology and Design; Professor Andrew Rohl of Curtin University, Australia; and Professor Ved Ram Singh of the National Physical Laboratory in India.

Invited speakers included Dr Jimson Mathew of the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, India; Professor Ashutosh Kumar Singh from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra; Professor Kok-Lim Alvin Yau of Sunway University; and Ir Professor Muhammad Nizam of Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia.

All accepted and presented full papers from the conference will be submitted to IEEE Xplore, a digital library which offers discovery and access to scientific and technical content published by the IEEE and its publishing partners. IEEE Xplore provides web access to more than four million full-text documents from some of the world’s most highly-cited publications in electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics.
