KUCHING: A 32-year-old uniformed officer was arrested at the Kuching Central Police Station at 4.50pm yesterday for allegedly sodomising a jobless 25-year-old man from Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kuala Lumpur in a hostel at Batu Kawa new township here on Dec 1.
The victim said he was staying in the hostel with friends when he went to a toilet at about 5am and bumped into the suspect. The suspect then blocked the victim’s passage but he ignored him. The suspect then accosted him and squeezed his private part. He fought back but the suspect continued which caused the victim to suffer great pain in his groin. After the initial assault, the victim said the suspect forced him to perform oral sex before the suspect used his finger to sodomise him.
Following his friends’ advice the victim lodged a police report on Dec 7. After the suspect was arrested he was taken to the Batu Kawa Police station for further investigation. The suspect has a past criminal record and is still single. The suspect is being detained for further investigation and can be charged under Section 377 of the Penal Code for sodomy which provides for a jail term of up to 10 years or life and fined upon conviction.
