Sports science course draws 67 participants

KUCHING: Sixty-three participants from all over the State and four from Indonesia completed their level one sports science
course which ended at Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre here yesterday.

According to an instructor from the Institute Science National (ISN) in Kuala Lumpur Freddy Affendi, the course was organised by the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC),  Sarawak state Sports Council (MSNS) and ISN Kuala Lumpur.

“We want to upgrade the standard of coaching in the country so that coaches will have a wide knowledge and a deep understanding in topics like biomechanics ,  human anatomy and physiology and psychology,” said Freddy, adding that ISN
is ever willing to assist in holding more courses here to promote sports development in the State.

Instructors of the five-day course were  Dr Chin Ngien Siong, Dr Pathmanathan A/L Suppiah, Gordon Nicolaus Jemat Anchang, Dana Raja Narayanasamy and Stephanie Chok.

The SSC coordinators were Adilaila Samshuddin and Jubali Suhaili.
