KUCHING: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian has presented funds amounting to RM1 million from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) to St Peter’s Church Padungan.
He presented the mock cheque to Roman Catholic Archbishop of Kuching Archdiocese, Simon Poh on Wednesday, with the funds allocated for the ongoing rebuilding works.
Earlier, Dr Sim was briefed on the construction and architectural aspects of the church, which is set to feature beautiful stained glass by the specialist artisan from Italy.
It is understood that a total of RM10 million is still needed to complete the church entirely.
