KUCHING: The crime index in Sarawak is still under control overall, says Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata.

He said statistics from January to December 2023 show an increase in crime to only one per cent while the number of cases cleared reached 90 per cent.

“Although it is under control, continuous efforts must be undertaken comprehensively to manage the situation, be it in terms of safety, threats, or activities related to narcotics,” he said.

Mancha said this when met by the press after paying a courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
