KUCHING: The Youth Entrepreneurs Programme (PUM) 2022, organised by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), aimed to encourage students to venture into entrepreneurship.

The programme, which was successfully held at Politeknik Kuching yesterday, was officiated by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

It was participated by over 600 students from Politeknik Kuching, Matang Vocational College, Kuching Vocational College, GIATMARA Training Centre Satok and Mas Gading Community College.

Following are the views of some of the participants:

Joachim Carlos Harry

JOACHIM CARLOS HARRY, 20

This programme is very beneficial for students like me as it teaches us how to manage or plan well when doing and starting a business. Through the exposure, students can determine if they are interested in venturing into this field as a career or not

Pau Khek Loong

PAU KHEK LOONG, 20

This programme teaches students entrepreneurship and encourages them to get involved in it. More such programmes should be held as they can benefit students who are taking up business courses.

Jean-Baptiste David

JEAN-BAPTISTE DAVID, 18

This programme promotes the benefits of being an entrepreneur. So far, I still have no interest in venturing into this field, but with the talk given, I might give it a try.

Sandra Kabu

SANDRA KABU, 16

As a student who is taking up a business course at Matang Vocational College, I find that this type of programme very helpful. With the information that I gain today, I might be an entrepreneur one day.
