Sufficient supply of controlled goods for Deepavali

MIRI: The supplies of 11 items that are placed under the Price Control Scheme for the coming Deepavali in this district are sufficient, assured Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Miri branch chief Joe Azmi Jamil.

“Based on inspections carried out today at Boulevard Hypermarket, Pujut, all these goods were sold cheaper than the ceiling price set by the ministry,” he said on Monday (Nov 1).

The 11 controlled items are live chicken (RM6.20 — 1kg wholesale price); standard chicken (RM9 — 1kg retail price); super chicken (RM10.00 — 1kg retail price); grad A chicken eggs (44 sen each); grad B chicken eggs (42 sen each); grad C chicken eggs (40 sen each ); imported mutton (RM37 — 1kg); tomatoes (RM7 — 1kg); red chilies (RM20 — 1kg); coconut seeds (RM1.30 each — wholesale price) and grated coconut (RM5 — 1kg [retail price]).

The ceiling price enforcement is from Nov 1 until 7.
