MIRI: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) has called the Pakatan Harapan (PH) to fulfil all its promises made in the 14th General Election (GE14), particularly on the devolution of powers and increasing the petroleum royalty to Sarawak.

In a press statement issued yesterday, SUPP central publicity and information secretary Adam Yii Siew Sang reminded PH that all the promises they pledged in their election manifesto were promises they pledged with the people of Sarawak. ‘

“Sarawak PH clearly stated in their election manifesto, Buku Harapan under Promises 41 and 47 that in the event that PH becomes the government of the day, the PH government would ensure the prosperity of the people of Sarawak by increasing the petroleum royalty to Sarawak to 20 percent,” he said.

In addition, SUPP emphasised that PH has promised to implement decentralisation of power to Sarawak which includes 50 per cent of the tax revenue collected in Sarawak to be returned to Sarawak. In the May 9 general election, SUPP was defeated in six out of seven parliamentary seats contested with DAP wresting five of these seats and another seat won by PKR. – BERNAMA
