KUCHING: Deputy Minister of Health Dr Lee Boon Chye gave Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) youth members of SMK Hajah Laila Taib, Stampin District a surprise visit during a blood donation campaign at Summer Mall, Kota Samarahan last Saturday.

Dr Lee dropped by and spoke with the MRC members besides having a photo taken with them.

The event was held to mark the 2019 World Salt Awareness Week.

During the blood donation campaign, the MRC youth members helped to register donors and talked with them while their blood was being taken.

A spokesman for MRC Stampin revealed that student members are encouraged to host blood donation campaigns to promote awareness of saving lives by donating blood while helping to ensure sufficient blood supply in the Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital.
