KUCHNG: The Bumi Kenyalang prestigious championship, Sarawak Cup 2017 now returns to local football fans.
The tournament is scheduled to be held in Mukah from Oct 22 to 29.
The president of Sarawak Football Association (FAS), Dato Posa Haji Majais, said FAS had set that the tournament be held on that date.
“We have already decided that Sarawak Cup 2017 will take place from Oct 22 to 29. “I believe all the affiliates or associations of the divisions are aware of it,” Dato Posa said.
Dato Posa also believed that all the teams, especially all the divisions involved will be more prepared to face the tournament.
“There’s still room for all the teams to form a strong side and undoubtedly they will be better prepared,” he added.
He said the annual championship, organised by the parent body (FAS), was also be an avenue to search as well as identifying new talented players to play in three teams – the Sarawak squad, the President’s Cup and the Youth Cup.
