KUCHING: Sarawak will get an additional public holiday for Hari Raya Aidilfitri either on Friday (April 21) or Monday (April 24).
State Secretary Datuk Amar Abu Bakar Marzuki in a statement today said the Sarawak government has agreed to grant the additional public holiday for the state following a directive from Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Should the 1 Syawal fall on Friday, then the next Monday will be an additional public holiday.
Meanwhile, if Hari Raya falls on April 22 (Saturday), then this Friday will be the extra public holiday. Since the second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri will then fall on a Sunday (April 23), Monday (April 24) is automatically a replacement public holiday.
