Swinburne’s five-hour weekend counselling for January till April

KUCHING: Prospective students particularly SPM, STPM and UEC school-leavers or those who are interested to pursue their postgraduate studies can now visit the Swinburne Campus Sarawak on Saturday and Sunday for course counselling with the education counselling team.

The counselling hours for Saturday and Sunday are from 11am to 4pm throughout January till April. This is in addition to its existing weekday counselling hours from 8.30am to 5.30pm.

Students are advised to arrange for a scheduled appointment or walk-in engagement with the team to discuss the offered courses in business, science, design, engineering, information technology and multimedia.

In addition, they also could obtain advice about scholarships and financial aids, accommodation, the application process as well as go on campus tour upon request.

For students who are keen to apply on-the-spot, they are advised to bring along their identification cards and birth certificates (Malaysian students) or original passports (international students), original academic transcripts with grading system (SPM/GCE O-Level/UEC/STPM/GCE A-Level/Diploma or equivalent qualification), and original English language proficiency test results (MUET, IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent qualifications).

Application is now open for enrolment into Swinburne’s 2019 intakes. Classes will commence on Mar 4 for degree and postgraduate programmes, and Apr 8 for foundation and diploma programmes.

Swinburne offers competitive internal scholarships and bursaries for all level of studies. Among the financial aids being offered to foundation and degree students are the Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship, Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Awards, Academic Progression Scholarship, Emerging Technology Award, Dean’s Outstanding Youth Award, Siblings Rebate and Bumiputera Financial Scheme.

There are also options available for diploma and postgraduate students such as the Diploma Pathway Bursary, Diploma Entrance Bursary, Diploma Pathway Scholarship, Postgraduate by Coursework Award, Postgraduate by Coursework Award (Corporate) and Alumni Postgraduate Bursary.

External scholarships and financial aids from more than 30 organisations namely PTPTN, Yayasan Sarawak, Sarawak Energy, Sarawak Timber Association, Rimbunan Hijau Foundation, Gamuda, Great Eastern, Hong Leong, KPMG, Malaysia Airport, OCBC and others are also available.
