PUSA: A special task force (PPK) has been set up for the purpose of documenting stateless persons in Pusa district.

Pusa District Officer Bujang Ladi said apart from documenting residents who still did not have citizenship status, the PPK would also track and identify stateless residents here.

The Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) quoted Bujang as saying that the task force was set up a special meeting held at the Pusa District Office on Monday (May 9).

“Other functions of the PPK are to obtain survey forms which will be distributed to all community leaders and village heads in the administrative area as well as to collect back survey forms of heads of household (KIR) in their respective area, especially those who have not been identified, do not have identification documents, and have had their citizenship status determined,” Bujang said.

He hoped that the establishment of the task force would help resolve the issue of stateless residents in the district.
