KUCHING: The nationwide service outage experienced at all Magnum outlets last Sunday was traced to a technical malfunction.

According to Magnum in a media statement via email today, the outage from 5.50pm lasted until the close of draw at 7pm.

“Upon the occurrence of the outage, the Magnum recovery team went into immediate action and the outcome of the investigation was ultimately traced to a technical malfunction of a core server network component.”

The system was fully up and running by 7.05pm.

“Our recovery team will be working with third party experts to minimise the impact of unavoidable technical issues like this incident on our sales system.

“We want to assure all our customers that our sales system is up and running at 100 per cent capacity and that all their tickets purchased before the outage happened are completely secure and intact,” said Magnum 4D Berhad chief commercial officer Datuk Chan Chee Fai.

He said that it was so unfortunate that this happened at such a time when a significant number of their customers placed their bets.
