SIBU: A boy died of severe injuries after he was crushed by a two-tonne metal gate at a heavy machinery workshop along Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce here yesterday (Mar 14).
Sibu OCPD ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said they received a police report on the incident at 10.48 am.
A team from the Sibu Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and Lanang police station were promptly deployed to the scene.
“The 18-year-old victim was found lying on the floor with injuries to his head believed to be caused by the gate.
“No sign of foul play was detected,” he said.
Zulkipli said the body has been taken to Sibu Hospital for a post-mortem.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
