SEPANG: Teleport aims to make logistics affordable for everyone with the addition of its first Airbus 321 freighter (A321F) into its fleet, said Capital A Bhd chief executive officer (CEO) Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.

He said the A321F would enable logistics services at affordable pricing by serving as a full-fledged air logistics provider.

“The A321F offers a huge opportunity to provide small businesses with a chance to expand their products,” he said at the unveiling of the A321F here yesterday.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah graced the event, which Transport Minister Anthony Loke and Teleport CEO Pete Chareonwongsak also attended.

Teleport was founded in 2018 by consolidating the unused passenger flight belly capacity of all AirAsia airlines under one network.

Meanwhile, Chareonwongsak said the A321F would further strengthen Teleport’s most prominent air logistics network in Southeast Asia and cater to the growing demands of key emerging production and manufacturing hubs within the region.

He said Teleport is expecting three more A321Fs by the end of this year and a total of 10 freighters in the next 18 months.

“From a scrappy start-up with humble beginnings in Malaysia, 676 Teleporters across seven countries work tirelessly each day to deliver more goods by air than anyone else in Southeast Asia.

“We saw our growth accelerate in the past 24 months, where we have scaled a company that is profitable and on track to generate US$200 million in annual revenues,” he said. – BERNAMA
