Three assemblymen granted leave as sitting begins

KUCHING: The first day of the third session of the first term of the 19th State Legislative Assembly (DUN) commenced on Today (Nov 21) with elected representatives from across the state converging at the DUN complex.

The sitting began with a prayer at 9:05am in the DUN chambers.

Speaker Datuk Amar Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said leave of absence was granted to Tarat assemblyman Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn and Batu Danau Assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang on Monday (Nov 21).

Meanwhile, he also granted leave of absence to Engkilili assemblyman Johnical Rayong Ngipa from Monday (Nov 21) to Tuesday (Nov 22).

The sitting was then followed by the first reading of the Supply (2023) Bill 2022 by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg; the Electronic Sarawak Government Activities Bill 2022 by Minister of Utility and Communication Datuk Julaihi Narawi; the Constitution of the State of Sarawak (Amendment) (No 2) Bill 2022 by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, Federal-State Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali; Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Future Fund Board Bill 2022 by Abang Johari; Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill 2022 by Deputy Minister Town Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh, and Veterinary Public Health (Amendment) Bill 2022 by Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Seri Stephen Rundi Utom.
