Three more PUI cases recorded in Sarawak

KUCHING: Three more Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases for the Covid-19 outbreak were recorded in the state yesterday.

According to a statement issued by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), all three patients who are Malaysians, are placed at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) here.

“With the new cases, Sarawak now has a total of 102 PUI cases from Jan 10.

“The number comprises of 79 Malaysians , 20 Chinese nationals, one Thai, one Indonesian and one Canadian,” the statement mentioned.

However, 97 cases tested negative and five others (four in SGH and one in Miri Hospital) are still awaiting results from laboratory testing.

As at 12pm on Feb 19, the Health Department had screened a total of 10,647 arrivals at various airports, land and sea entry points — bringing the total number to 141,939 since Feb 1.
