Three new clusters in Sarawak

KUCHING: The Sentosa 2 Cluster here, the Duyoh Cluster in Bau and the Jalan Teo Kui Ngo Cluster in Meradong are the latest to hit Sarawak.

The Duyoh Cluster involved two households at Kampung Duyoh, Jalan Jagoi Serikin, Bau.

“Of the 82 individuals screened, 22 were positive, including the index case, while 53 were negative. The remaining seven are waiting for results.

“All infected were referred to the Sarawak General Hospital and Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) in Kuching,” said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on Wednesday (July 14).

Meanwhile, the Jalan Teo Kui Ngo Cluster was detected at Pusat Penjaja Bintangor in Jalan Teo Kui Ngo, Meradong.

“Out of 53 individuals screened, 13 were found positive, including the index case, while 16 individuals were negative for Covid-19. Twenty-four individuals are waiting for results.

“All positive cases were referred to Sarikei Hospital and PKRC in Sarikei District.”

The Sentosa 2 Cluster involved staff and residents of a health facility in Kota Sentosa, near here.

“Out of 181 individuals screened, 52 were positive, including the index case, and 129 are waiting for results.”

SDMC said five clusters had ended – Emperan in Selangau, Jalan Jambusan-Sunchar in Bau, Kluster Ijus Penyelayan in Miri, Jalan Daya and Jalan Keruing in Kuching, after no new cases were detected or reported in the last 28 days.

In addition, SDMC noted that of the 98 still active clusters in Sarawak, 10 recorded 38 new cases while 88 did not record any new cases.
