Toddler trapped inside car saved

Firemen are seen trying to unlock the door in their effort to rescue the toddler.

MIRI: Firemen from Miri Central Fire station this afternoon were called out to release a toddler from inside a car in Lorong Budaya Taman Tunku.

According to Miri Fire and Rescue department (Bomba) acting chief Supt Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee, a team of five firemen were deployed to the scene located about 14km from the fire station upon responding to an emergency alert at 1.23pm.

It was made to understand that the toddler girl was trapped in a locked Perodua Axia that parked was at her family residence’s car porch.

The operation started at 1.39pm.

“Firemen used special tools to unlock the car’s doors and rescued the toddler,” said Ahmad Nizam.

She was reported to have been trapped inside the car after the vehicle auto-locked that afternoon.

Subsequently after being safely rescued, the toddler was handed over to her mother.

The operation ended at 2.04pm.
