Tony Hii elected Advocates Association Sibu branch chairman

SIBU: Senior advocate Tonny Hii Yii Yik has been elected unopposed as the Advocates Association of Sarawak (AAS) Sibu Branch new chairman.

Timothy Lim Teng was also elected unopposed as the new vice chairman, while Christine Lim Shiew Hsia and William Ting Siew Chon were returned as the branch secretary and treasurer respectively.

According to the branch’s press release yesterday, Boston Ho Teck Howe joined Terence Tiong Ing Jie to continue to be committee members, while Andy Ling Lee Tun, Samuel Kie Chang Ee, Christine Wong Chin Hui and Penny Su Ni Ni were elected as new committee members.

The newly elected committee members are to serve for a two-year term from 2022 to 2024.

The branch extended its appreciation and special thanks to the outgoing vice chairlady Yong Siew Wei, outgoing branch secretary Jacquelyn Hii Shin Law and committee members Kenny Lau Thai Yik, Eliah Lau Sie Yu and Ting Ee Linn for their services and contributions during their tenure for the term 2020 to 2022.

Five sub-committees have also been formed with Timothy Lim Teng for Civil Court Practice Sub-Committee, Boston Ho Teck Howe for Criminal Court Practice Sub-Committee, William Ting Siew Chon for Conveyance & Land Matters Sub-Committee, Andy Ling Lee Tun for Continuing Legal Education Sub-Committee and Christine Lim Shiew Hsia for National Legal Aid Foundation Sibu Sub-Committee.
