KUCHING: Three suspects were arrested yesterday (Oct 8) in connection with a recent case of a suspected thief being beaten and threatened in front of a premises at Jalan Stephen Yong here.
Padawan district police chief Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said a video went viral showing the suspected thief being beaten with a PVC pipe, baseball bat and threatened with a shotgun on Aug 29.
Abang Zainal said the three male suspects were aged between mid-20s and late 50s.
“The three male suspects have been remanded for four days starting yesterday and investigation papers have been opened under Section 324 and Section 506 of the Penal Code,” he said in a statement.
Abang Zainal advised the public not to speculate on the case.
