Two die in separate road accidents in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Two people have died in separate road accidents here and in Beaufort.

A motorist, identified as Andy Mahaga Sipawi, 23, died after the car he was driving crashed into a tree at about 2 am today at the roundabout near the Likas Mosque here.

The Sabah Fire & Rescue operations centre said in a statement that firefighters took about 30 minutes to remove the body from the car.

In Beaufort, a seven-year-old boy died at 2.30 pm yesterday after he was knocked down by a car while crossing a road in Kampung Selagon 2.

Beaufort District Police chief DSP Azmir Abd Razak said Muhammad Nuraizat Syah Danish Royhaizzath died while being rushed to the Beaufort Hospital.

The car, driven by a 40-year-old man, was going from Kampung Pintas to Beaufort town when the accident occurred, he said in a statement. – Bernama
