Two girls plead guilty to possessing stolen motorcycle

KUCHING: Two girls pleaded guilty before the Magistrate’s Court here today for possessing stolen property, a Honda motorcycle belonging to a 57-year-old man last February 4.

The accused, aged 12 and 14 respectively, made the plea when the charge under Section 411 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 34 of the same Code was read before them.

According to the charge, they jointly possessed stolen property, a motorcycle at Bandar Baru Samariang Road, here around 10 am on February 4.

However, Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi released both accused on bail of RM3,000 each with a parent as surety, pending moral reports due on March 28.

According to the facts of the case, on February 4, around 10 am, the complainant reported to the police that his motorcycle placed in front of his house was stolen.

Later, around 8.30 pm, the police successfully arrested both accused on the roadside of Bandar Baru Samariang using a motorcycle.

As a result of the investigation, it was found that both accused had possession of stolen property, namely a motorcycle belonging to the victim.

The prosecution of the case was handled by prosecuting officer Inspector Nur Shafiqa Nyaie Ilin, while the accused were not represented by a counsel.
