KUCHING: The district police have arrested Two of the three suspects who broke into a house and stole various food items along Jalan Stampin Tengah on June 10 have been arrested.

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the suspects were arrested on June 11 and 13 at different locations.

Acting on information, the district’s Counter Aggressive Team (CAT) picked up the suspects around 5.20 am (June 11) and 12.50 am (June 13).

“Background checks found that the suspects, who tested positive for drugs, have a combined total of 27 prior records related to crime and drug offences.

“Also seized were nine equipment used by the suspects to commit the crime,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code, which carries up to 14 years in jail and a fine or whipping by the cane, upon conviction.

Ahsmon said police are still tracking down the last suspect.

On the incident, Ahsmon said it was reported to have happened around 6 am and the three burglars, who were caught on CCTV, made off with various food items.
