TYT, Premier at Dr Chan’s residence for CNY visit

KUCHING: The lively celebration of Chinese New Year continues at Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan’s residence.

Dr Chan’s residence was the fifth house visited by the Head of State Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi on the first day of the Dragon Year.

Upon their arrival, they were greeted warmly by Dr Chan and his wife, Datin Patinggi Puan Sri Datuk Wira Lorna Enan Muloon Chan as well as their family members.

Soon after, they were treated to a cultural dance performance from Sarawak Cultural Village followed by Yee Sang toss.

They then proceeded to have lunch at the residence.

Later in the evening, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang arrived at the residence, making it the sixth Chinese New Year Open house he visited today.

Among the distinguished guests here were Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abg Hipni; Deputy Minister of International Trade and Investment Malcolm Mussen; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali; and Tanjung Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan.
