KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar welcomed two courtesy visits at the Astana today (March 5).

The first visit came from Army Eastern Field Commander Lieutenant General Datuk Mohd Sofi Md Lepi, who provided an update on the security situation, especially in the border areas.

“We have also given an overview of the development in terms of infrastructure and the military equipment we possess, ensuring that the Head of State receives a clear picture of how we execute our duties and missions in Sarawak.

“Alhamdulillah, he offered some advice and guidance on how the forces can perform their duties more effectively,” said Mohd Sofi.

Furthermore, he mentioned that Wan Junaidi expressed a wish for the ground forces to undergo restructuring in terms of their areas of responsibility to ensure alignment with their functions and tasks.

Subsequently, Wan Junaidi received a visit from the delegation of the Kaul Mukah 2024 Parent Committee, led by its chairman, Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi.

The visit primarily aimed to extend an invitation to Wan Junaidi to attend the Kaul Mukah Closing Ceremony and to enhance the festivities of the Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri Ceremony on April 28 at the Kaul Festival Site in Mukah.

Also present with Wan Junaidi to welcome the visitors was his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
