KUCHING: An unemployed man was arrested on Thursday (Nov 5) for allegedly slapping his wife following a misunderstanding, at Taman Matang Jaya, Jalan Matang here.

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the victim (a housewife) lodged a police report after the alleged incident occurred in early October.

This has happened at least five times since the victim married the suspect in August last year.

“Throughout the couple’s marriage, they had argued five times where the suspect would slap and push the victim.

“The latest incident happened in early October until the victim suffered bruises on her face and arms,” Supt Aidil said in a statement.

He revealed that the cause of the misunderstanding was because the victim was spending too much for their one-year-old baby.

Other than that, the suspect was also furious when the victim complained that the suspect’s mother was giving improper food to their baby.

“During the suspect’s interrogation, he admitted to slapping and pushing the victim during the incident, but did not use any weapon.
