KUCHING: The Kota Sentosa Service Centre will organise an “Exchange of Polling Place Address and Voter Registration Check” event this Saturday (Mar 23) at Dewan Perniagaan Mile 7 to assist residents in updating their voting details.
The initiative, led by its assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin, addresses concerns from constituents who find themselves registered in other constituencies despite living within his constituency.
“Many residents in Kota Sentosa have voiced their frustrations regarding local issues. However, a significant number of them are not registered voters in this constituency,” said Yap in a statement today (Mar 19).
Yap added that an elected representative is more likely to address the concerns of constituents than those outside the constituency. He encouraged those living in Kota Sentosa constituency but registered elsewhere to take advantage of this opportunity to update their voting details.
Representatives from the Election Commission of Malaysia (EC) will be available at the event to facilitate the process ensuring residents can easily update their registration details.
