KUCHING: Road users along Jalan Kuching/ Samararahan are encouraged to use other alternative routes such as Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa to get to the city centre.

According to Public Works Department (PWD) statement posted in its Facebook yesterday, the director Richard Tajan together with the Project Monitoring and Implementation Team visited and surveyed the five roundabout Upgrading Project site area along Jalan Kuching/Samarahan yesterday.

During the site visit, PWD also surveyed potential alternative routes to reduce traffic congestion along roundabout no. 4 (Samajaya) throughout the construction process at the site.

“At this point, road users are encouraged to use other alternative routes such as Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa to get to the city centre.

“The department will inform if there are any changes to the route from time to time,” PWD said.

Also present were Deputy Director for Infrastructure Ir. Ts. Cassidy Morris, Project Leader (Project Monitoring and Implementation Unit) Ts. Meehan Jorai, Divisional Engineer for PWD Samarahan Division Indra Sakti Haron, senior officers of PWD Sarawak and the contractor.
