Urban and rural Repok undergo development

SARIKEI: Implementation of development projects is in Repok is ongoing.

Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said the projects are being carried in both urban and rural areas, including in villages longhouses.

He said many of these projects are high impact ones, therefore will bring about major changes to the local communities.

“I am very grateful that all of our projects are going well. This proves that the Sarawak government has made careful planning before implementing them,” he said at the 2020 New Year celebration in Sarikei on Monday night.

Hii called on the Repok population to give Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) their full support, saying under GPS Sarawak remains on the solid road to greater development.

He said in terms of opportunities, fast growing Sarikei as a ‘Green Pasture’ holds that potential for those who are diligent and enterprising. 

On the Repok’s infrastructure development, Huang said, “As the representative of all the people in N 45 Repok, I am very grateful for the construction of roads to Tanjung Manis, the construction of school buildings and amenities to industries in Sarikei.

 “This shows that we have a chief minister who is caring and sensitive to the needs of the people,” he said. The event was attended by more than 1,800 people, mostly Iban people from more than 100 longhouses in the Repok constituency.
