KUCHING: Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCSS) is organising a variety of fun activities to celebrate parents of its children.
This will be held in conjunction with National Parents’ Day happening on July 24.
In a social media post, the SCSS stated that it would celebrate parents of children under its umbrella, thereby honouring their (parents’) efforts and sacrifice in caring for their children while spreading happiness amidst challenging times.
“We saw a total of 32 families participating in our internal SCSS Family Photo competition, bagging prizes ranging from rice cooker, gas stove, electric oven, kettle, and desk fans amongst others.
“Goodie bags were also distributed to parents at the ward, daycare clinic and our halfway home in Kuching,” it said via the post.
As a gesture of thanks, parents also had a mini celebration at the ward and halfway home with the medical and support services frontliners, said the society.
“The unconditional care and selfless love of a parent during good and tough times is what keeps the children going and fighting against all odds.
“Thus, thank you to our dedicated parents,” it added.
