KUCHING: Residents of Rh Budin Nawek in Sungai Tuyut in Marudi have stated their commitment to work together and support the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.

Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said the villagers gave their commitment because they were confident that their socio-economy would be taken care of.

“This is especially important for longhouses that have lagged behind in terms of basic development,” said the Marudi assemblyman in a Facebook post after visiting Rh Budin Nawek, Sg Tuyut today.

Penguang added the government would be carrying out electricity connection works under phase one of the Rural Electrification Scheme (RES) programme at Tuyut, Bukit Limaus including upgrading the dirt road to gravel road.

During the visit, Penguang presented minor rural project (MRP) grants to JKKK Rh Budin Nawek (RM32,000), its Women Bureau (RM5,000), JKKK Rh John Mato (RM20,000), JKKK Rh Agnes Ngerega (RM15,000) and JKKK Rh Galau (RM15,000)
