MIRI: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri in collaboration with Miri Hospital will organise a virtual talk entitled ‘Covid-19 and Mental Health Care’ on Monday (Aug 9).

The event would be broadcasted live at 10am via Pustaka’s official YouTube channel (Pustaka Sarawak Channel) and official Facebook page (pustaka.sarawak).

The programme is part of Pustaka’s monthly virtual activities for the community.

The talk will be delivered by Dr Claire Thien, a medical officer from Miri Hospital.

During the event, she will be sharing information relating to the Covid-19 pandemic which has had a huge impact on the mental health.

Some individuals are at high risk for mental health problems, especially when in a state of extreme stress and isolated from their support network.

If this depression fails to be diagnosed and treated properly, it can increase the risk of suicidal behaviour.

The general public are invited to participate in this session virtually.

For more details, contact Pustaka Sarawak Miri liaison officers Muhd Annwar Adenan (annwar2@sarawak.gov.my) or Suzannah Abdullah (susana@sarawak.gov.my) or call 085-422525.
