KUCHING: Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar says there has been no premature postal voting as alleged by Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The caretaker federal Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (Parliament and Law) said this in response to the allegations made by Anwar, who said military personnel, particularly in the Bera constituency, had already cast their votes for the 15th general election.

“As I was informed by Defence Forces chief General Tan Sri Affendi Buang, the process for postal voting for military personnel began on Nov 7,” he said.

He added that the candidate’s agent had been informed by the Returning Officer (RO) on the date of issuing the postal ballot.

“It all depends on the registered individual upon receiving the postal ballot paper.

“The most important thing is the postal ballot papers must reach the related Returning Officer’s office before 5pm on Nov 19,” he added.
